Creative Thinking in your Classroom

Creative Briefs has over 11 years' experience working with children and young people, including neurodivergent learners and pupils who face barriers to engaging with mainstream education inside and outside the classroom. 

The introduction days allow us to follow our format of ‘Let’s Imagine, Let’s Design, and Let’s Share’ in relationship to KPIs in writing, and oracy.

Where could this lead?

Following the taster, schools can decide how involved they would like to become. Some may help us with the initial research and development, while selected schools will have the opportunity to work with us over a longer period during the four-year programme.

This could include:

  • Co-creating curriculum-linked activities, initially exploring how arts-based learning can support History and in the second year across other curriculum areas.

  • A mix of face-to-face and online Creative Briefs sessions, with opportunities to extend the approach across different academies, schools, classes and year groups.

  • Arts Award opportunities, enabling participating children to gain recognised certificates and potentially progress into our wider out-of-school creative programmes.

  • Helping us test and shape our online portal and resources, so that what we develop is genuinely useful and a practical resource for teachers and neurodivergent learners.

This is an opportunity for teachers to be fully involved, not to just receive a workshop. Teacher involvement is imperative for co-learning and co-development of this work long-term.

What to expect from the taster days

  • The two days will introduce pupils to our approach through practical design challenges. They'll explore Design Thinking and creative problem-solving by researching, generating ideas, experimenting, making and sharing their work.

    The introduction days allow us to follow our format of ‘Let’s Imagine, Let’s Design, and Let’s Share’ linking to KPIs in literacy and oracy.

    We see pupils grow in confidence, creativity, and communication.

  • This is an opportunity for class teachers to meet our team, to see our design process and experience our approach, to share what works, and work together in the classroom to meet KPIs.

  • This is a chance to discuss possible next steps with your Senior Leadership Team for longer-term involvement, and how our methodologies fit to upcoming curriculum changes and SEND reforms within your setting.

Dates

We will be holding introduction days in November and December 2026 and are limited to 5 schools / education settings for year one of this project. This is open to mainstream primary schools and Alternative Provisions.

MORE ABOUT CREATIVE BRIEFS

We work in schools and also extra curricular. Many pupils who meet us in classroom setting join our online weekend activities and progress through our wider programmes of work.
